🚗 Model Description
The PONTIAC G8 was introduced in North America in 2008 as a performance-oriented full-size sedan based on the Australian Holden Commodore VE Omega platform. Built by Holden in Australia and imported by GM, the G8 marked a bold return to rear-wheel-drive sedans for Pontiac, offering V6 and powerful V8 engines, including the 6.0L V8 in the G8 GT and a 6.2L in the rare GXP trim.
Underneath its aggressive styling, the G8 delivered sports car-level performance with well-balanced handling and excellent ride quality. Features included a sport-tuned suspension, 18–19-inch alloy wheels, and premium interior options like leather seating and Bluetooth connectivity. It was widely praised for blending Australian engineering with American muscle.
Although production ended in 2009 due to Pontiac’s discontinuation, the G8 remains a cult favorite among performance enthusiasts. Its platform sibling, the Holden Commodore VE Omega, continued production until 2011 in Australia, offering similar features but tailored for local market needs. Today, both models are appreciated for their performance, reliability, and rarity.
